PSK – Kappa Celebrates 150 years and Announces Capital Campaign

On March 25, 2023, Phi Sigma Kappa – Kappa Chapter celebrated 150 years of Phi Sigma Kappa National. It was a beautiful day, the house looked great, and we had a full house of Actives and Alumni in attendance, including many alumni who attended virtually on the Zoom link. To help us celebrate, Chris Hoye, ’91, Grand Chapter President, and Tom Grunwald, ’91, President of Phi Sigma Kappa Foundation, came to State College to celebrate in person! Virtually joining us was former Grand Chapter President Anthony Fusaro, K ’62. In-person was Alumni Man of the Year, State Sen. Jamie Barton, K ‘87. It truly was a special Founders Day!! In addition to the celebration, the Kappa Alumni Board announced the Damn Proud Capital Campaign. The overarching goal of the campaign is to invest in the future. The projects include a fully-functioning chef’s kitchen, a new brother’s kitchen, a new outdoor social space (to be connected to the ground floor party room), installation of HVAC in the ground floor party room, new flooring in the upstairs, installation of a new crest above the fireplace, and several IT projects that are intended to improve the quality of life for the Actives and the connectedness with and among the Alumni. The goal is to raise $750k and we are a third of the way there. The plan is to complete the campaign fundraising by Homecoming and to begin projects this spring/summer. We hope that you can join us! Pledges can be satisfied over time (preferably within three years).
